Membrane
Silicon carbide (SiC) is among the hardest materials in the world. The SiC ceramic membrane technology provides extreme durability combined with mechanical robustness.
In addition to high permeability, high flux, and a high level of hydrophilicity (water-loving material), it is also corrosion resistant.

Ceramic tubular membrane modules are used to filter streams of high dissolved or high suspended solids, e.g., oily wastewater treatment. They usually consist of two tubes.
The inner tube is the filtration membrane, and the outer tube is the shell. The ceramic-based inner tubes are packed into a long PVC or metal housing. The filtering works through tangential crossflow so the feed stream goes across the length of the membrane tube and is filtered out into the outer shell.
Filtration with tubular membranes is a highly efficient and space-saving solution compared to traditional clarifying filter systems.
